Basic Life Support - BLS
You wouldn't want to do CPR on a person that's unconscious, until you make sure the person is in cardiac arrest. The person may have only fainted for any number of reasons and may not need CPR. You can't tell if a person needs CPR until you assess the person (check for a pulse). Performing CPR on a person that doesn't need it is dangerous and very bad advice.
