I was interested in this because I wanted to see how it differed from the CPR/AED/First Aid program I used to assist. One thing I noticed is that all the videos lacked an important part of First Response: communication. Communication gives the care person more information about what's happening; for example, I didn't hear the person asking the stroke victim a question in the stroke check video. The stroke question's important because someone could pass the smile and arm tests, but not speech since it uses different parts of the brain. Also, there's multiple scenarios where you need to reassure the victim in order to help them from treating a burn wound to heat stroke. The lack of audio in the videos misses many the nuances of first response. For example, I was taught to count out loud during CPR so that whoever comes in to relieve you know how far along you are and adapt accordingly. Overall, I found this...mildly disappointing. It wasn't factually wrong, but it felt bare bones. On one hand, this program's for people who need a quick and cheap CPR/AED/First Aid re-cert like safety trainers; however, this needed more substance around communicating and the smaller points like counting out loud during the CPR videos. Still, I think this program does a good job at what it's designed to do: be a quick, fully online CPR/AED/First Aid recertification.
