The true or false question: Should CPR be performed when a patient is unconscious and non-responsive is misleading. Immediate assessment is required, but CPR should ONLY be performed if the patient is also not breathing. If the unconscious patient is breathing normally, you should not perform CPR as it could cause harm. The exam question did not state whether the patient was breathing or not, only that the patient was unconscious and unresponsive. This is kind of a big deal.
