CPR / AED / First-Aid

Personally, I found the course content to be a bit lacking. It was adequate for the purpose of providing most of the information needed to answer the Final Exam questions correctly. However, I did find the info pertaining to the EMS activation procedure for head injuries to be unclear, which caused me to get that question wrong on the test. In the head injury section of the training, there is a bulleted list of specific symptoms / circumstances in which to call 911 immediately following a head injury. The only other mention of the 911 procedure for head injuries in general is in the paragraph below said list, which states that one should "Call 911 and perform CPR if ...," just as the aforementioned list is also preceded by the word 'if'. Therefore, both instructions to activate EMS in the head injury section are conditional, due to the presence of said conditional conjunction (if), and do not indicate that calling 911 immediately in the event of any head injury at all is an absolute, but rather suggest very much the opposite: that specific conditions need to be met first in order to necessitate that action. So, I do think that could use some clarification, or maybe the addition of a comma after the phrase "Call 911" at the bottom of the section, to separate it out as a first step, independent of the conditional clause that follows. Aside from that, and a few other potentially mundane grammatical errors that inner my grammar nazi noticed, I would have preferred a more interactive or varied format for the course content / presentation itself. The text was certainly educational and instructive, but when it comes to learning a skill on which people's lives may depend, I feel it might be helpful to provide more in the way of demonstration, visual representations of hand positioning, etc., narrated videos that explain the subject's actions, and more student engagement. I managed to trudge through all the reading and retain most of it, but I fear that today's fast-paced, over-stimulated, social media obsessed culture has bred an increasing number of people who are less inclined to read material of that nature while maintaining focus, especially in the distracting setting of the internet. Lastly, I noticed many references to "universal precautions" in the training, but I could not find anyplace where it was defined. So, I wound up looking it up on google, but I think a glossary of some sort might be helpful for looking up unfamiliar terms like that, or perhaps it could be included in the Intro, where the protective equipment involved in the practice of universal precautions are already listed. Overall though, the course does serve its purpose as a means of obtaining CPR / AED / First-Aid certification for employment purposes.
